Your Say...

RIGHT FANS I NEED YOUR HELP THIS IS WHERE THE ADVANTAGE OF YOUR SAY COMES HELPFUL; I need you to tell me how much you'd expect to pay for;

Sweatshirt with colour printed design

Tee with graphic print

See photos for final selection as indicator. Please bare in mind the brand produces limited numbers and is not mass produced like many high street brands, I would like to say We Are Vultures is a premium quality aspirational brand but people dont feel they can't afford the items.

Your answers mean a lot to me as this may have a significant choice in suppliers and final prices and whether it is possible to do it at all.

Sole Trader

Registered officially today as a sole trader. Called HMRC and asked whether they recommended registering as a sole trader or limited company. There opinion was that its much more manageable to operate especially for tax purposes. Therefore if any new business startup is in same situation this would be my recommendation.

Are We a Limited company or self employed?

Very confusing times. We Are Vultures is in the process of being set up, but as sole employee am I self employed or director of a limited company? As you can tell I am one person, and as law have to register the business because hopefully I will be earning money from it and therefore have to pay tax. But as i am a sole owner do I really need to become a limited company which then becomes soo much more complicated? Very confusing, I have been trawling the net for advice but there seems like no one who has said anything about this nor anyone available to email. If anyone has any advice please contact me wearevultures@hotmail.com

Finding The Ultimate Denim Jacket

Above: Top left; Nudie Coated Denim Jacket £100 Top right; Levis Vintage 1967 Jacket £165
Bottom left; Edwin Flathead Red Selvedge Jacket £135 Bottom right;  Diesel £100

Denim Jackets are very much back on trend. Since the days of Levis twisted seamed collection, denim jackets have lost there popularity. The jackets are very hard to pull off, there is nothing worse than looking like a 50 year old drunk from down at your local 70s styled social club, therefore we best advise going for the dark denim jacket on lighter blue jeans. We therefore have been looking for the ultimate jacket so we don't slip into the drunken beer stained look. Whittling it down to 4 each from popular denim brands around the same price bracket. We would recommend any of the above however thumbs up went to the Edwin Selvedge jacket. We have long been a fan of Edwin. A brand that really understands good quality raw denim. Made on old shuttle looms, the cotton is woven on one continuous weft, As the weft loops back into the edge of the denim it creates this “self-edge” or Selvage. Selvage is desirable because the edge can’t fray like lower grade denims that have separate wefts which leave an open edge that must be stitched. However what really sells this jacket is the fit, its a little slimmer fit and the length is more flattering to the shape and just reaches the bottom of the waistband of the jeans. This we believe is the desired length as denim is so hard it is annoying if cuts of any higher, it makes you want to pull it down lower but wont go anywhere. If you too want to pick up ou choice Edwin Red Selvedge Jacket or any of the others, go to Asos.com to see a wide range.

Obey-Brand Focus

Obey have expanded into a distinguished fashion brand. Just over 20 years ago the streets of the world first saw the Andre the Giant poster. Created by Shepard Fairey who i consider to be one of the greatest graphic artists of all time. It now sells tees, scarves, tank tops, shirts accessories. It has stayed true to its urban heritage as well as communicating much more serious issues. Nobody creates iconic graphic images than Obey. Check out the collection at shop.obeyclothing.com/

Accessorize the Grey

We all know grey is the new black, therefore we have produced a grunge inspired grey silk scarf to go with the simple white tee and grey cardigan. It acts as a great accessory piece and light enough for the summer days with a pair of rolled up chinos

Silk Scarves

We Are Vultures silk scarves are created to give an urban approach to what is usually a very Gentrified garment. What we have is large oversized scarves perfect to team up with one of our tees and a good pair of vintage Edwin jeans.

Things We Like

Recently scouring the net for any fantastic new collaborations and came across this from friends at Nylonmagazine. Fred Perry for years have produced fantastic slim fitting polos, however this summer what can be better than a splash of floral and paisley courtesy of Liberty. Can't wait to see these great blooms of colour bursting from beneath an grey All Saints cardigan.
